Archos 9: conflicting opinions

You might know Archos or at least heard of it from all the different kinds of media players that it is famous for manufacturing, however you might be hearing more about it now since it has released its latest computing device, which is a portable tablet PC and this device might become pretty talked about, but not necessarily for the right reasons. The Archos 9 is the touch screen computer tablet that the company has recently released and the biggest flaw that you will find with the product which is one that they should seriously have dealt with before its release is the fact that its touch screen is actually pretty unresponsive, a very sad feature of a TOUCHSCREEN tablet!

However, the device actually looks pretty good given the fact that it is pretty solid to look at and is also slim actually, however one cannot say great things about the weight issues especially if you end up using the device for a prolonged period of time as it can turn out to be pretty much of a burden, however if you are going to use it on a desk this will not be a problem of course. Also the image quality on the screen is pretty good itself- very bright and the screen which is a huge 8.9 inches is very good performance wise when used indoors especially in dim lighting, however a big problem with this is that it can barely be used outdoors in bright light because of the reflective coating on the screen which can be quite a bummer for many users.
The batter life is also something that will not give you any kind of complaints, a good three hundred and eleven minutes is more than just enough. Also the Atom Z510 processor which is used inside the device actually matches its performance to other notebooks and netbooks too, therefore in these respects the device is hardly lagging behind.
So the basic problem with this tablet is that the unresponsiveness of the touch screen makes the device practically useless because if even the most common tasks on the device becomes a huge burden then there is going to be hardly any usability to bank on for the device. There is however a touch panel that is present on the side of the device that can be used if you find that the touch screen is not functioning at all, this gives a better performance of the slightest measure and this can be your only alternative if you have already bought the device. But any ordinary user will want a touch pad or even a mouse because this is the basic feature for which the user paid.
