Samsung’s first camera success
If you take into consideration the fact that Samsung has been trying really hard for the past couple of years to become popular in the amateur camera market, then you have to applaud their latest release- NX10 which is the closest they have got so far to perfection in this particular field. Their previous cameras we cannot exactly just shrug off as very bad efforts but it was just that somehow they never really measured up to the class of their other Japanese counterparts.
The trick is that Samsung has found its niche as far as manufacturing the right kind of cameras are concerned, it is not exactly a DSLR or is it a Micro Four Thirds, actually it is a Hybrid and this is where it might excel in. So what exactly are the features of this camera that is going to get it to sell? Well, it has already made some big claims about the three inch OLED screen that the camera carries and this is almost something that you would expect out of a company that majorly sells televisions and mobile phones. This screen is claimed by the company that it also offers a wide range of angles for viewing and the contrast that can be adjusted on this rear viewing screen is also supposed to be much better than what is offered by most other companies.
Also, the resolution is something that Samsung has given its contenders to deal with- quite a high 14.6 MP. The size of this camera on the other hand is pretty up there too, it looks and feels almost like any standard DSLR camera does which is a very good thing for the company! Apart from all that, the camera is also pretty decently priced and its price more or competes with the others such as the Panasonic Pen family or the other Panasonic GF1 as well, even the new entry level DSLR cameras are also competing with this Samsung model which is actually quite a good position for Samsung’s camera to begin with.
One thing about the camera is that the camera is very easy to handle and very simple to use but the unfortunate thing about the camera is that it is not as well thought out and planned as the other DSLR cameras by Nikon or even Cannon which is rather a let down, however one wonders if the other easy to use features of the camera will be able to make this up.
