Thousands fooled on Facebook
It is not exactly rare that one comes across annoying adware and other sleazy devices on the internet to get you to fall into their trap and be lured into giving away a lot of information and sometimes can even turn dangerous and this is of course not something Facebook has never faced before, but very recently this popular Social Networking site is going through a similar disease again and there have already been thousands of unsuspecting users on the site who have been lured into it.
This is in the form of a video actually, which shows a clip of a woman in a skirt and is very conveniently titled ‘The Sexiest Video ever’ and this has been unleashed on Facebook which is quite a smart way of installing malicious malware on to the computer of someone who happens to click on the link looking for a cheap sort of thrill- what this does it not as caustic as it could have been. Clicking on the link means that you will end up installing an adware that will probably make your life on the internet miserable with continuously popping up advertisements everywhere you go.
So if you are looking to watch a sexy video, this is not the one to choose. The reason why there are even more and more people on Facebook falling for this prank is because if a user clicks on the link it is then immediately sent as a post to all their friends on Facebook. Not only does it prove to the clickers friends that he or she had clicked on the link to have a look at this ‘sexy video’ but in fact those of the clickers friends who are unsuspecting might actually believe that their friend has sent them something funny or super sexy to watch and trusting their friend’s judgment might themselves click on the link, making this chain only worse. It is no surprise therefore why there are so many people and friends of clickers clicking on the link and this chain has already reached thousands of Facebook users in the matter of a few hours.
So if you did happen to click on the link, not only would it be embarrassing enough for you already because your friends would of course get to know, but you will also be bugged constantly with those pop up ads that you have tried so hard to avoid. The situation is therefore both embarrassing and frustrating, so beware of what you click on Facebook.
