Android reaches 100,000 landmark

Android have reached another significant landmark in their history, very short history at that. This landmark is that they have finally reached the 100,000 point when it comes to apps. Yes, they have finally announced that they have 100,000 apps in their Android Market.

when they first started out, they had everything in their arsenal to tackle the iPhone, save one thing. That one thing was that they had nowhere near the power that Apple had when it came to apps. Well now, after being around for just over 2 years, Android can proudly say that they have reached 100,000 apps in their Android Market App Store.

With the recent release of the iPhone favourite app, Angry Birds on Android, you could have safely said that the Android Market was becoming more and more popular. But they are still somewhat behind the likes of the Apple Store, with the latest iOS 4 being something of a trendsetter in the way of apps and it is still firmly rooted at the number one spot in the market, both in terms of apps and the most popular smart-phone.

One thing that you Android fans can take note of is the fact that Apple CEO, Steve Jobs has resorted to being in a war of words with Android which would suggest that he is slowly, but surely getting worried about the threat that Android does pose to his beloved iPhone. All we have to say is, let the war begin…
