Facebook set to ‘like’ Skype?
The majority of people reading this will use Facebook. Well good, congratulations, not all of you though will know quite exactly what Skype is though. Well it is essentially like MSN but you can actually make phone calls off it to other people on their mobile phones.
Anyway, back to the original point, there are rumours surfacing that Facebook and Skype are set for a major partnership. According to Reuters, Mark Zuckerberg’s social networking haven is in talks with the MSN rival, VoIP provider to integrate their services and turn into one almighty social networking beast!
If this is actually true then you will be able to ‘Skype up’ your Facebook friends instead of using the naff Facebook chat that everyone so often whinges about, when it crashes or doesn’t stops working, or most annoying, when it deletes your conversation with someone so you don’t know what they have said to your maybe relationship breaking question. So you could have actually been dumped and you wouldn’t know.
The news originally emerged from the Wall Street Journal that was claiming to know people who were close to the matter. According to the Journal’s source the deal would let Facebook users sign in to Skype via their Facebook accounts. Skype’s latest 5.0 version is expected to have the Facebook capabilities and is set for release in the coming weeks. I suppose this one is just a case of, sit and wait when there is quite literally nothing else we can do.
