Top 5 gadgets we’re going to see in 2011

Deep down in our heart of hearts, we’re all tech heads really. That sense of overpowering joy you get when you get a new gadget, or a new phone well, next year’s not going to be one to disappoint on the gadget front. Here’s our pick of the top 5 gadgets that are set to be released next year…

1. Nintendo 3DS

As we all know, 2010 has been one hell of a year on the tech front and the inevitable has happened. We have finally seen the release of 3D capable devices like TV’s and games consoles. 2011 is set to see the release of the first 3D handheld gaming device. Japanese giants Nintendo have got in there before everyone else in releasing their Nintendo 3DS. Before you ask us, yes it is going to be glasses-free 3D technology so you needn’t worry about playing your games with a pair of goofy looking glasses on.

2. BlackBerry Playbook

The BlackBerry Playbook, the new tablet device from RIM is set to be released next year and it is RIM’s first effort in the tablet field and some people are claiming that it is one to beat the Apple iPad, but will it be capable of standing upto the Apple iPad 2? Which leads us nicely onto our next gadget…

3. iPad 2

Apple’s dominance is something to be proud about, well if you’re Steve Jobs that is. There have been rumours for a while that a new iPad is on the horizon but Apple have some way or another denied this. However, we can confirm that there are plenty of rumours flying around so you could say that the old no smoke without fire saying is coming to fruition here but we expect it’s just a case of waiting for this one.

4. PSP Phone

Yes, possibly the big one of 2011 the Sony Ericsson PSP Phone has been rumoured for a long while but has never been officially announced until now. It is rumoured to be named the Zeus Z1 but who cares when you have a PlayStation Phone at your finger tips, just one thing we’re a bit worried about and that is dual touch-pads instead of analogue sticks, but hey can’t get greedy now.

5. iPhone 5

Well, well, well it’s the big one. Every year, for the last three or four years we have gotten used to Apple releasing a new handset and hopefully, if previous years are anything to go by then we can probably expect an iPhone 5 to be released this summer. As of yet there is absolutely nothing official on this handset yet, but if there is, you can be sure that we’ll let you know!
