PlayStation try to burst Nintendo’s bubble…
Now we all know how stiff the competition is in the games console market, and it’s just hotted up a little bit more over the weekend, no thanks to Sony boss, Jack Tretton. He was being interviewed in a magazine this weekend and he had a few choice words to say about Nintendo’s newest edition to their ever growing family of handheld games consoles.
We all know about the release of the new Nintendo 3DS and what this means for the future of gaming is pretty evident if you ask us, but what does it mean for the futures of Sony and Nintendo? They are both Japanese companies so straight away there we have got two rival companies and after Jack Tretton’s outburst this weekend you may imagine that they’re not going to be seeing eye-to-eye for a while yet.
He was being interviewed in Fortune magazine and was asked about Nintendo’s new handheld console, the Nintendo 3DS. He was then quoted as saying that the 3DS is only offering a “Game Boy experience” which is going to touch some nerves considering its 3D technology which Nintendo invested so much in and he then went on to say that it was just a “babysitting tool”. As you can imagine, Nintendo didn’t take too kindly to this but as of yet we haven’t had a reply from Nintendo about what they think of this but you can be certain that there will be a reply soon enough.
There’s a lot of rivalry in the world of tech recently. Just today there was an announcement that the new Android tablet from HTC is set to be announced very shortly in the UK and it isn’t coming cheap either. In an attempt to match up to Apple’s iPhone, and iPad releases, Android have gone to the end of the world and back to try and go one better than the Apple devices, and one thing’s for certain; they’ve definitely gone one better than Apple with the price of their new HTC Flyer coming in at a whopping £599.99 from the Carphone Warehouse, let’s hope that some of the other stores get it at a cheaper price!
