Sony to be jumping in on the iPhone 5?
It’s getting ever closer to the Apple conference that they announce when the new iPhone will get released and like every other year the rumour mill is slowly picking up pace and churning out some very interesting rumours.
The latest one to come out of the rumour mill is that Sony are set to be jumping on the iPhone phenomenon by supplying Apple with an 8mp image sensor for their new iPhones which are set to be released in just a few months! If this does happen then it will be the first time EVER that Apple have got another company on board when it comes to parts in their iPhone handsets. Apple seem to be all about letting other companies come up with products for people to buy for example the iPhone 4.
When it was released there was a massive up roar about the “antenna-gate” that plagued the release of the then, new iPhone 4. Apple claimed to have solved that problem with the announcement that they would be sending out iPhone 4 bumpers to all the people that bought an iPhone 4 when they first got released. Now they’re not free anymore but they are for sale in all good Apple stores worldwide, however they come at a price and that price isn’t cheap. They cost around £26 or if you’d prefer you could just go on eBay and buy one for less than half the price at the Apple store.
Anyhow back to the task at hand, well not really a task more just about the 8mp image sensors from Sony, which are meant to be being developed at a factory in a Tsunami hit area of Japan, which if these rumours are true, would then give substance to the rumours that there’s going to be delays to the release of the iPhone 5 this year because some parts are being developed over in Japan.
Another rumour that we’ve heard about is that the new iPod Nano is set to have a rear facing camera built into it, could this be a Sony product too? Will this mean that there’s going to be a delay to the release of the new iPod Nano?
