Just a few months after the launch of the iPad 2, the rumour mill is now full of discussions about when the next generation version of Apple’s revolutionary tablet will be released.

The Taiwan Economic News is reporting that a number of suppliers of the components will start delivering parts for the new tablet from October, increasing numbers by December encouraging speculation for a release date in early 2012.

The company have also reportedly enlisted a second company to assemble the device following supply problems after an explosion at the factory where the iPad 2 was being constructed.

Apple have currently not confirmed or denied anything to do with the iPad 3 and are expected to remain quiet up until the official launch.

Owners of first or second generation iPads should look to investing in iPad insurance for their tablet. Accidents and theft can easily happen, so looking for iPad insurance prices on iPad insurance comparison websites can give peace of mind to owners of the tablet to be sure that your device is safe, no matter what happens.

Just over a year ago many in the tech world were shocked at the release of Apple’s iPad. However, just over 12 months on and an astonishing amount of apps later, Apple have released their next instalment in the iPad family. They announced just a few weeks ago that they would be releasing their new device, the iPad 2 in the United Kingdom on the 25th of March.

The iPad 2 has already been released in the US, being launched out there on the 11th of March. Steve Jobs announced that Apple would be releasing this new device at the recent conference that was held. It’s kind of an annual conference that is held almost every year, like the one for the iPhone that get held every June or July to announce the eagerly anticipated Apple iPhone that most people know about anyway. Because let’s be honest it doesn’t really take a genius to work out the sequence they’ve got going on when it comes to announcing new products.

Back on to the subject of iPad’s they have announced the iPad 2 and its release date for the UK and in the US so as you may imagine when it comes to new Apple products, there’ll be an abundance of people pre-ordering the new iPad so that they can go and pick theirs up on release day. Some people may have a look at the different iPad accessories that are available for you to buy with your iPad. As you may imagine, Apple probably make a fair amount of their money on the official accessories that they sell in their stores up and down the country and also online. Things like iPad accessories will be massive sellers when the new device gets released, people will want to keep their new ‘toy’ safe and protected.

Perhaps you’re not in the US, perhaps you’re over here in the UK? Well if you are then there’s plenty of different places for you to go and have a look for iPad accessories UK, and have a look at what they have on offer for you and your iPad, and who knows you may find a bargain, or bag yourself an absolute gem that may cost you ten times the price somewhere else. Maybe you know someone over in America who can get you what you’re after for half the price? If you do then that would be a money saver for you!

The iPad has been a massive hit in the 12 months that it’s been out. As of the 25th of December last year the original iPad had sold over 14 million units worldwide! 14.79 to be precise which is pretty damn amazing when you consider that we’re supposed to be in a global recession. Imagine all the iPad accessories that got sold when people were buying their flash, fancy new iPads.

Apple have after much ado released their latest product. They have finally released the heavily rumoured iPad 2, after many months of speculation and many different people supposedly in the know saying that there’ll be a new iPad coming out and then that there won’t be a new iPad coming out and then some people even going as far as saying that there is going to be a new version of the Apple iPad being released but a smaller version.

Well after all of this, there’s finally been an official announcement made about the new iPad 2 coming out and to be perfectly honest it’s not all that different to the first iPad that was released. There are very minor changes to the device things like it being ever so slightly lighter and also thinner than the original iPad and that also means that for any of you iPhone 4 users out there, its bad news I’m afraid. The new iPad 2 is thinner than your handset, now how does that make you feel?

There’s one major difference between this device and the original device and this is that the new iPad has a front mounted camera on it for any of you FaceTime lovers out there. So if you were thinking about getting one but weren’t sure because of the potential lack of a front camera then you can now rest easy in the knowledge that it will have a front camera on it so that you’ll be able to FaceTime the hell out of your new iPad 2. One other thing, they have released the White iPad 2 as well just in case you fancy a change of colour. Or as it may seem they are trying to appeal more to the women out there.

It was the festive period’s most-wanted item and based on early unit sales indications, the Apple iPad did not disappoint millions on Christmas morning.

The touch-screen device is thought to have sold approximately 6.31 million units between October 1 and December 31, 2010, which is about 2 million above their average quarterly figures. Not bad for a device which was launched eight months ago, yet is rumoured to be superceded in April by a better device.

Even kids were getting in on the act, turning their noses up at toys and car sets favoured by earlier generations with 39% of kids just saying they wanted Apple devices from Santa, from iPods to iPads to the iPhone 4, in accordance with the Duracell Toy Report which quizzed a huge number of five to 16-year-olds.

But with the clamour for pricey gadgets during the Christmas period, new iPad users are now being warned that they are prime targets for robbery and really should seek iPad insurance which is certainly becoming more and more cost-effective with quite a few suppliers vying for a little bit of the Apple pie.

Rob Townsend, director of property claims, at Aviva said: “Our homes were jam-packed with plenty of expensive gadgets and glamorous gifts over Christmas and of course that means rich pickings for any opportunist thief in the New Year.”

Together with Apple gizmos – laptops, consoles and digital cameras were top of burglars’ Christmas list in 2009 as crooks cashed in on empty homes and newly-bought presents. Statistics for Christmas crime in 2010 are soon to be revealed.

Rumours suggest Apple will release two new versions of their Apple iPad in tme for the festive season! Apparently, Steve Jobs and his cronies are lining up two smaller versions of the device, a 5.6 inch version and a 7 inch version, compared to the 9.7 inch version that is available now.

It is understandable that people are going to doubt this EVER happening let alone just a few months after the release of the original model yet the folks at Digitimes seem to think that Apple will indeed be rolling out two new forms of the iPad with OLED displays in time for Christmas. Parents rejoice…

Like most things Apple turn their hand to, the iPad has become a worldwide hit. It took 28 days for Apple to sell its first million iPads, 31 days to sell the second million, and 21 days to sell the third. 80 million were sold in the first 80 days – equating to an iPad sold ever 2.3 seconds.

Critics will say if you really want a smaller iPad, then you can buy an iPod touch, which is virtually identical to the iPad and has more or less all the same features.

We’ll wait for more info – leave your comments below…

When Asus released the Eee PC in late 2007, technology industry observers were uncertain that mobile computing would catch on. Laptops had already bridged the gap between portability and productivity, with desktop computers remaining popular at home and in the workplace. Who could ever need anything more portable than a thirteen-inch laptop?

As the EeePc – along with hundreds of other netbooks – has proven, there’s inevitably doubt and confusion whenever a game changing product is released. Apple saw it with the iPad; Asus saw it with their revolutionary Eee PC, and now Toshiba are preparing to see a similar level of tech industry uncertainty with the release of their Libretto W100 dual touchscreen laptop.

At first glance, the Libretto W100 looks like any other netbook. It’s small enough to fit in a carry bag, slim enough to slide inside an envelope, and housed in a black plastic enclosure that wouldn’t look out of place alongside Asus’s original Eee PC ultra-portable. But what separates it from other netbooks is its bizarre screen arrangement; unlike other Libretto models, the W100 uses two touch screens manage user input.

It’s an arrangement that’s surprisingly comfortable, especially after a bit of practice. We suspected that the Libretto W100 would fall into the same traps as other touchscreen devices; limited power, questionable usability, and a virtual keyboard that’s worthless for business use. However, it’s in all aspects a powerful device, proving itself useful for almost all standard computing tasks.

The W100 comes with Windows 7 as standard, and uses the operating system’s built-in touchscreen features in a surprisingly natural manner. Browsing the internet is remarkably simple, and scrolling through eBooks and documents feels quite natural. There’s an obvious adjustment period for typists and business users, however we feel that the W100 could eventually become an office tech partner.

An Intel U5400 provides ample power, while 2GB RAM allow users to keep multiple applications open without worry. We can’t recommend the Libretto W100 for multimedia users or as a developer workstation, although it is surprisingly usable for advanced tasks. 64GB of solid state data storage are included as standard, with a single USB 2.0 port giving users alternative control or storage potential.

Amazingly, the Libretto W100′s greatest strength is one that’s barely advertised by Toshiba. Switch the netbook to a portrait orientation and you’ll find its screen display switching with you, creating the ideal mobile reading device. With two seven-inch touchscreens and a more dense pixel layout than Apple’s iPad, the W100 could be the ultimate portable reader.

Toshiba have truly hit the mark with the Libretto W100. It’s a device that’s patently weird at its core, falling into no current categories and having more in common with Nintendo’s DSi gaming console than with its netbook competitors. If the thought of picking up an iPad is too much to handle, then Toshiba’s latest dual-screen touch netbook could be the best choice out there.

The iPad is here, and Apple’s most recent press release claims it’s a major hit. The touchscreen device is selling at a rate of one unit every three seconds, placing total sales well above the two-million estimate analysts have been slinging to the press. American iPads sold out upon release, with Apple fans and technology gurus lining up to purchase their wifi tablets.

But that was the wifi edition of Apple’s new tablet – the lower-end model released just a couple of months ago. Now Apple has a new iPad, and it’s available to UK buyers. The iPad 3G boasts few new software features from its predecessor, but includes the power to connect to mobile broadband connections and access online apps outside the home using a 3G signal.

With a £529.00 price tag, the 3G iPad certainly isn’t priced for budget conscious consumers. Apple are offering a variety of models to UK consumers, with the basic 16GB iPad 3G available for just £100 more than the wifi edition. High-end customers and those looking for the ultimate touchscreen device may be forced to shell out even morel; the top-of-the-line 64GB iPad retails for £699, almost £300 more than the most basic wifi model.

However, we can’t help but think that it’s money well spent. The iPad 3G overcomes numerous faults and annoyances which limited the wifi model, giving users a significantly improved mobile experience and helping battle relatively limited wifi connection speeds. Mobile broadband is available almost everywhere in Britain, giving users quick and easy access to online content and applications, no matter where they may be.

The operating system is identical to that found on the wifi iPad, save for some added mobile broadband connection options. Speed is brilliant and operation is simple, with everyone from experienced techies to new users able to operate the iPad effortlessly. Despite a lack of official customization options, personalizing the iPad isn’t particularly difficult; users can choose from custom backgrounds, and use a number of applications to change the device’s presentation.

The iPad 3G’s greatest strength is its use of GPS – a feature that changed the iPhone from a flash handset into a truly useful piece of technology. Google Maps is greatly improved from its wifi-only counterpart, able to access information data and provide custom directions; the perfect alternative to a physical area map.

Battery life appears to be unchanged from the wifi-only iPad, despite the greater power usage we’d have expected from a 3G device. The iPad can sit idle for days, using very little power in the process and acting as the ultimate ‘around home’ computing tool. With iPhone OS4 on the way and multitasking soon to appear, we can’t help but feel like the iPad’s ‘legendary’ battery could be in for a challenge.

While the £100 premium certainly makes the iPad 3G a more difficult purchase to justify, we feel it’s worth it. The convenience of an always-on connection makes the device’s huge application selection even more enjoyable, while improved mapping functions make the iPad 3G the ultimate travel tool. If monthly data charges aren’t a concern, this is the iPad to get.

It seems that the group of people who will be benefiting quite a bit along with many others with the use of the Apple iPad will be the musicians who learn to use all the different features and the applications on the phone in harmony. Yes, you’ve got that right, there might be enough applications on this PC tablet that will be able to help musician from all around the world to use their iPads to their advantage; some of the key selling features of this tablet is its huge screen that is going to come in very handy and lets not forget that it is also quite a portable device which will be quite an asset for all those travelling musicians. In fact experts have already taken a look at the iPad from the stand point of being a possible musical tool and they have even actually seen the possibilities of it becoming one soon!

What the iPad can basically be used as most experts agree on is that this device can be used to create music, but this will take some time to develop as this will need even more applications the kinds that are similar to the ones that are used on laptops to create and play with music. Music makers will thus be able to embrace this device to the fullest while using the recording features as well to help them out.

Most experts agree that the iPad has great potentiality to become an accompaniment for musicians however they also feel that other kinds of applications should also be developed to make the experience more wholesome. This way if all the right applications work out for the iPad, it would turn into a device that can literally be carried around everywhere one went, whether for practicing or even on a holiday, which would be perfect places to carry a recording and music arrangement equipment.
So one can only wonder now whether this computer tablet by Apple will really become the only tool that is needed by any musician anywhere in the world. This will actually end up being a revolutionary gadget to carry around then, allowing you to carry out almost any possible function that you can think of and also allowing the device to be so simply portable all the time. We will just have to wait now and see what kinds of new applications they can develop to add to the device to make it even more music friendly.
