The latest music phone that has been released by Nokia is the X6 which might look great from the outside, but there are definitely some features that the phone leaves wanting for its customers who expect nothing but the best from their Nokia phones. For instance, one can only wonder whether the touch screen of this phone will be good enough or not, usually all the touch screen phones from Nokia of the past have been resistive.

The storage is something else about the phone that is very attractive, the latest update about the X^ newest version is that it is going to have a 16GB memory, which gives an user masses of storage which is a great feature especially on specifically a music phone. These phone will in fact also be made available at a much lower price.

Looks wise, Nokia has kept the phone looking simple and pretty much like an ordinary sliding phone and has a 3.2inch touch screen that is also capacitive, which makes the existence of the physical keyboard practically redundant and the touch screen can be used for all your requirements- that is if the touch screen does function well.

As far as the media features and the entertainment side of the phone is concerned, it is definitely going to be very attractive. As mentioned before, the storage space is literally huge, but not only that there is also a very good FM Radio and the camera is definitely worth a lot of applause- with 5MP and a Carl Zeiss lens- making the phone within its price range worth a lot of bragging.

Many people might actually come to the conclusion that the touch screen and the interface of the phone is actually nothing much more than a gimmick by Nokia and that it will not exactly meet the expectations of their customers. However, as far as the way the interface looks, we can list for you no complaints. The touch screen actually comes without a stylus for which Nokia has thankfully provided keys and buttons on the touch screen that are made to be big enough for fingertips to be used. Also, the screen is 3.5 inches diagonally which makes the screen actually look bigger, in fact it would even look to some to have a bigger screen than the iPhone.

You will also notice that the videos and the photographs that you take actually look pretty great especially because of the glossy screen of the phone which makes these images look bright and clear. One can only wait for consumers to use the phone and list out their complaints if there are any.

Finnish cellphone giant Nokia has suffered some serious blows. The once-dominant technology company lost market share to Apple’s revolutionary iPhone, and saw its share of the business phone market dwindling with RIM’s popular Blackberry phones and the recent wave of HTC Android-powered handsets.

But now the technology company is back with an innovative handset – the Nokia X6. Designed to bridge the gap between mobile phone and entertainment centre, the slick new smartphone could very well be the Finnish company’s comeback. Boasting a 3.2 inch touchscreen and powerful operating system, the X6 resembles a half-iPhone half-slider piece of technology.

The iPhone similarities become even more clear once the phone’s switched on. Alongside the similarly sized touchscreen is an operating system that’s equal parts iPhone OS and Android, drawing from Nokia’s effective yet slightly less creative software division. Usability is fine and most features are easily accessible, though there is some noticeable slowdown when switching between applications.

Furthermore, the interface just isn’t consistent. Some built-in applications are smooth and user-friendly, while others retain the annoying design features of Nokia’s early WAP applications. While significantly better than Nokia’s early touchscreen phones – all of which used styluses for navigation and applications – the touchscreen Symbian interface just isn’t that great.

When it comes to physical design, the X6 is a mixed bag. The phone is slightly longer and thinner than its competition from Apple and HTC, while thicker than most other smartphones. At first glance, it’s easy to mistake the X6 for a slider-style keyboard phone – the handset’s depth and dimensions leave it closer to a candy bar than a standard smartphone.

Part of that is down to the screen’s 16:9 dimensions, which Nokia misleading describes as ‘HD.’ The 640×360 resolution is far from that of a full HD display, and significantly below that of ‘HD Ready’ monitors and televisions. The X6 is a fine multimedia phone and by far the best media station phone available, but it is not a piece of high definition technology.

There is, however, one aspect in which the X6 truly shines. With a 5MP built-in camera and LED-powered flash, the X6 offers the best photographic quality of any smartphone on the market. Crisp, deep photos are standard, and the pair of LEDs mounted below the lens ensure that night photography remains detailed and viewable. While not a replacement for a dSLR or compact camera, we feel that the X6 is an adequate travel camera or casual recording device.

As a piece of technology, the X6 is impressive and appealing. Its feature list is lengthy and significantly more wowing than that of its competitors; its design is smooth and compact, and its power as a multimedia phone is very good. However, it’s just not a great phone. From the bizarre dimensions to the annoyingly inconsistent user interface, a series of small issues make the X6 an excellent phone on paper, yet a difficult handset to use in the wild.
