Hexagon Colour-Changing Bluetooth Speaker

What could be better than a speaker which plays music AND provides nice colour changing visuals too? The Hexagon speaker does just that and as someone who has never owned a speaker like this before I was excited to try it out.

The speaker connects by Bluetooth and was straight forward to set up. I simply paired it with my laptop and mobile by searching for the speaker in my Bluetooth settings. I had no issues pairing it with my laptop, which runs on Windows 8.

The Hexagon is a Bluetooth speaker, which means that it will pair to any modern music-playing device including laptops, desktops and mobiles.

The Good

  • Looks nice when both on or off
  • Good volume with minimal distortion
  • Several different changing colours which change every 1.5 seconds
  • Micro SD Compatible

The Bad

  • Speakerphone option could be better
  • Missing deep, rich bass tones
  • Does not sync lights to music
  •  4 Hour Playing Time

The Basics

Pairing is easy: just turn the speaker on, and search for it in your devices Bluetooth settings. It paired immediately with Android, Windows, and iOS-based phones and tablets, and had no problem pairing to a Windows 8 laptop. The speaker feels sturdy and has a modern look.

The multi-colour cycling every 1.5 seconds is one of the coolest features we’ve seen in a light-up speaker. The speaker itself has a very funky design, and as it changes from reds, whites, greens, yellows, purples and pinks it provides lots of variety and really brightens up the room!

It uses the LEDs to create a gradient effect that cycles from combination to combination with a slow fade. It casts enough light to be seen easily in full daylight, and if used in a dark room, it casts a strong glow.

Unfortunately, it’s not enough light to read in, but that’s not the design purpose. It’s just supposed to look cool; and that’s what it does.

We thought that the Hexagon was a good example of a cheap good looking speaker, and is available at House of Fraser.
