BlackBerry Torch 2 is the most anticipated RIM phone of the year

The huge success of the BlackBerry Torch is something that BlackBerry anticipated a lot, but it has failed in the attempts to make the phone a huge success. Hence, the company is already contemplating launching a new phone that will be replacing the BlackBerry Torch 9800 at the top end of the spectrum and it is going to be the Blackberry Torch 2. This is the phone that is yet to be unveiled officially, but already rumours are circulating regarding the specifications and features of this phone.

The Blackberry Torch 2 will be coming with a 3.2 inch touch screen display that obviously shows no changes in the size of the display whatsoever, but it will be coming with a new resolution that is going to be making wholesale changes to the way that we used to look at the screen of the BlackBerry Torch 9800. The high resolution of 640 x 480 pixels is something that you will be witnessing only in the high-end smartphones that will be mainly focusing on the entertainment segment, but certainly not in the business aspect of things. This really shows a shift the focus of BlackBerry and it will be something that will be evident throughout the features of the Blackberry Torch 2.

The new phone will be coming with an internal memory of 8 GB, while it is also going to be coming with expandable memory card option as well. This will be providing up to 32 GB worth of space by the external memory cards, which is something that will be allowing the BlackBerry phone to hold up to a theoretical 40 GB in total, which is definitely going to be making a great difference when it comes to the quantity of features present in the phone. The Blackberry Torch 2 will be using the 3G and the Wi-Fi features in order to bring about the new content on to the phone from the Internet, while there will be the micro-USB and the Bluetooth options are present in order to transfer the content that has been downloaded from the Internet.

The five megapixel camera in the phone is going to think of a number of features that will certainly include LED flash and autofocus as its primary options, but one cannot certainly disregard the other options that are present in the camera. They will include the likes of the continuous autofocus, image stabilization and video recording option, although the exact nature of the videos that will be recorded using this camera is yet to be revealed. The Blackberry Torch 2 will be having the opportunity to introduce a 1.2 GHz processor that might not be dual core after all, but it is going to be significantly important in the race for the powerful processor within the BlackBerry ranks. The powerful processor will have the BlackBerry OS 6.1 to run. The exact launch date of the Blackberry Torch 2 has not been revealed, although one expects it to be in the Q3 of this year.
